Planning your next skiing holiday in Méribel? There’s plenty to look forward to this winter! From improved lifts and pistes to a clever new route-planning app, the 3 Vallées has been busy preparing for the 2026/27 season.
Here at Parallel Lines Ski School, we’ve picked out the changes we think will make the biggest difference to your time on the slopes.

1. The Rhodos Gondola Gets Its Finishing Touches
The Rhodos gondola renovation is entering its final phase, with improvements to the upper station, including new facilities and a dedicated area for ski schools.
This is particularly welcome news for us, as the Parallel Lines Ski School meeting point is on the left-hand side of the Rhodos telecabine in Méribel.
The improvements should make this busy area more comfortable and convenient for families and skiers.

2. A Clever New 3 Vallées Ski App
One of our favourite developments is the new Routes feature in the 3 Vallées app.
Simply enter where you’d like to go, and the app suggests a route based on your skiing ability and the current lift and piste openings.
Whether you’re meeting friends for lunch in Courchevel or exploring somewhere new, it’s a handy addition to your skiing day.

3. Better Snowmaking on the Truite Piste
Good news for anyone skiing between Méribel-Mottaret and Méribel!
The snowmaking system on the popular green Truite piste is being modernised to improve snow coverage, while also making better use of energy and water.
This should be particularly helpful for beginners and less confident skiers using this important valley connection.

4. Improvements to the Pas du Lac Area
Over in Mottaret, the Niverolle piste is being reshaped to create a smoother, more enjoyable descent.
New snowmaking facilities should also help maintain more reliable conditions throughout the season.

5. The Châtelet Chairlift Returns
Great news for freestyle enthusiasts! The Châtelet chairlift is returning to service for winter 2026/27, providing easier access to the Méribel-Mottaret snowpark.
The snowpark is also getting refreshed signage and a new visual identity, while the Plattières gondola cabins will feature artwork by Lucas Beaufort.

6. A New Look for La Chaudanne
Méribel’s main lift departure area is also receiving some useful improvements.
A new public toilet facility, complete with outdoor ski-pass purchasing terminals, should make getting organised for a day on the mountain a little easier.
7. More to Discover in Courchevel
Across the valley, La Tania’s gondola is being upgraded with modern eight-seater cabins.
Courchevel is also introducing a 300 m² panoramic terrace at the top of Chenus, offering lovely views towards Saulire.
And for something a little different, the Fera Lumia sledging experience promises an exciting new atmosphere on the descent between Courchevel 1850 and Courchevel Village.
8. Family Fun and New Adventures Across the 3 Vallées
Les Menuires is improving its family fun areas and introducing a new beginners’ area at the top of Roc 1, complete with a magic carpet.
Meanwhile, Val Thorens is expanding its use of drones to support mountain safety operations, and Orelle is introducing a new ski touring itinerary called La Trace du Loup.
