Our Magic Carpet ride to learning to ski or snowboard.

Parallel Lines Magic Carpet

As great as Meribel is as a place to learn to ski, there has always been one small achilles heel which had to be dealt with. How to get started on the first day in a safe, secure area with a beginner lift.

Meribel does not have a beginner tow for general use, so, in previous years we would walk up and down at the bottom of the lifts, take buses to Motarret or risk the wrath of the French Ski School by “borrowing” the use of their rope tow.

This has now all changed as we have purchased our own 40m Magic Carpet ski lift and associated private area which will allow all our Beginner skiers and snowboarders to learn in ideal conditions in the morning sun. Our new beginner area is at the top of the Tougnette 1 telecabine with access directly from the telecabine station meaning no extra walking or climbing required. The area has an ideal gradient for beginners to learn the basics on and the Magic Carpet lift means no more climbing back up the slope.

At the end of your session the telecabine can take learners straight back to La Chaudanne, where we started.

This, with our great instructors, small group sizes and our extra free afternoon lesson on Day 1 for beginner groups, means that Parallel Lines really can say that we give our clients the best start to skiing and snowboarding possible!
